Our Story

In 2016,
Pyxis Co-Founder, Retired U.S. Army Colonel, Bill Edwards, was in the process of transitioning from a highly-prestigious military career as a Senior Intelligence Officer with the U.S. Army. During this timeframe, he reached out to a writing professional in the Denver market, Carly Schledorn, who collaborated with him to create a targeted branding strategy as he prepared for a new career outside of the U.S. Military.

Over the next few years, Bill pursued his passions and quickly gained notoriety as a corporate executive, a published author, a prominent speaker, and one of the nation's top authorities on public and corporate security as well as emerging drone technologies.
Reflecting on the synergistic factors contributing towards his success, Bill became a stout proponent of self-marketing, digital brand development, and entrepreneurship, which led to the creation of a company that could provide the same value to others. He quickly sought out a founder's group for Pyxis Management that would take his vision to the next level.

With a uniquely skilled executive team now in place, Pyxis can offer its clients over 90 years of collective experience in executive leadership, human resources management, legal advisement, career counseling, personal branding, organizational training, and social media engagement.

PYXIS, the Constellation
‘PYXIS’ is deriven from the Latin, Pyxis Nautica (meaning “nautical compass”) — and is known as the Compass Constellation or Mariner’s Compass. Originally part of the larger constellation Argo Navis (“the ship”), Pyxis became a standalone constellation in the 18th Century and came to represent the compass crucial for celestial navigation.
PYXIS, the Navigational Instrument
This vital tool used by sailors to navigate the seas dates back to ancient times and was employed by mariners, including Greek and Roman sailors. It enabled them to traverse vast and unpredictable oceans. (The Pyxis typically consisted of a small box or container with a rotating star map inside, allowing sailors to align the positions of stars with the horizon to determine their position at sea.)
Just like the ancient mariner, you are about to embark on a new journey that might feel similar to that vast and unpredictable ocean, at times. We, at Pyxis, are here to help you chart your new course with confidence and purpose.
We are here to support you.
